Theresa Weber, C.N.A.
Owner, Founder of Caring Hearts of Sedona, LLC
In 1994, I received my STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) Certification from the Ohio State Board of Nursing. Thereafter, for several years, I was employed with home health agencies and long-term care facilities in Ohio. Upon moving to Arizona in 2001, I transferred my certificate and continued my profession as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). During this period of time, I gained valuable experience in furthering my professional development, my career path and, more importantly, my commitment to the caring for the elderly.
In 2001, I found myself working not only as an employee of a nursing home, but I also began additional services on my own in private homes as an independent caregiver. Then in 2003, realizing the needs of the community, I formed my business, Caring Hearts of Sedona. For a period of time, I worked in a nursing home, worked privately, and started building my business. I operated my business for 4 ½ years by myself. My mother, Gloria, came on board to offer her support as my business grew.
As a child, my mother would reminisce about how I would always have a strong attraction and bonding for elderly people, starting as a toddler. Every time my mother would take me to a park to play, I would invariably walk over to an older man or woman and just start a conversation, much to their delight. Since, I always loved being around seniors, it became even more so when this attraction continued throughout my school days. As a high school senior, my senior project was to work in a Nursing Home. While there, I developed a close friendship with one of the residents with whom I would continue to visit for many years. This experience played a major part in directing me toward the field I am in today.
Today, after six years of operating my own business in Sedona and since starting as a STNA in 1994, I still reflect back on those days and times that drew me ever so close to seniors and how I have now devoted my adult life to the caregiving profession.
Caring Hearts of Sedona is committed to touching the lives of seniors everywhere with respect, compassion and understanding. I will continue to give 110% when it comes to the care and services of my clients throughout the community.
I have been involved in Human Resources since operating a successful family business in Northeast Ohio. Our staff consisted of an average of 100 employees and I was responsible for the recruitment, screening and hiring of personnel for our service-related industry. My duties included direct contact with many of our clients. The family venture was started in 1991. In 2000, my husband and I decided to sell our business and semi-retire in the Verde Valley. We settled in the Village of Oak Creek.
Theresa, my loving daughter and owner of Caring Hearts of Sedona, visited us shortly after our move, and she, too, fell in love with the area. The following year she moved to the Village of Oak Creek. She began her business in 2003, and as her business grew, she recruited my skills and expertise in the recruitment, screening and hiring of qualified staff for her company.
I bring much experience, knowledge and understanding of what is important in dealing with people in general. My goal is to accomplish the end result of providing an exceptionally good relationship between each of our clients and each of our qualified caregivers. I feel this is the initial step in achieving cohesiveness and is the most important process to ensure compatibility for our client, family and overall peace of mind and to guarantee the best quality care and satisfaction.
As General Manager, I remain committed to making sure our in home caregivers remain of the highest caliber in all areas of our professional service endeavors.
